The experience
The historic center of Oaxaca is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the best way to understand it is on foot, with someone who grew up here. We start at Santo Domingo, the church and former convent that crowns the city, and continue through the streets and plazas of the center.
At the 20 de Noviembre market the smoke of the “pasillo de humo” leads you to tasajo, chorizo and tlayudas; then we walk to Jalatlaco, one of the oldest neighborhoods, with cobblestones, murals and local artisans, and finish at the Macedonio Alcalá Theater.
